Text Lamb SMS Terms

These SMS Terms cover the text messages Text Lamb sends. They are part of our Terms of Service (textlamb.com/terms). Text Lamb sends two kinds of messages:

Text Lamb Family Alerts: text messages (SMS) to family contacts, from Text Lamb's Family Alerts number (Section 1).
Your Text Lamb chat: the senior's own messages with Lamb, over iMessage, or RCS or SMS when iMessage isn't available (Section 2).

Consent to receive Text Lamb Family Alerts is not a condition of any purchase.

1. Text Lamb Family Alerts

Program name: Text Lamb Family Alerts.
What it is: short heads-ups to family contacts chosen by someone who uses Text Lamb ("the senior"). An alert is only ever one of these: the senior hasn't answered a daily check-in; the senior hasn't confirmed a reminder (no medicine is ever named); or, when the senior asks Lamb to, an FYI that a message they got looked like a scam. We also send the confirmation request and replies to HELP, STOP and START. No marketing, ever.
Who gets it: only people the senior names as a family contact (up to 3), who then reply YES themselves.
How you opt in (double opt-in):
1. The senior asks Lamb, in their own chat, to add you as a family contact, with your name and US mobile number.
2. We send you one confirmation request from Text Lamb's Family Alerts number.
3. You reply YES to agree. If you don't reply, or reply NO or STOP, you won't get any alerts, and we don't send another request unless the senior asks us to again.
4. After your YES, we send one message confirming you're signed up.
Family members can't add themselves, and can't be added without their own YES. The exact messages are on textlamb.com/sms-opt-in.
Message frequency varies. You only hear from us when the senior misses a check-in or reminder, or asks us to tell you about a scam. Check-in and reminder alerts aren't sent between 9 PM and 8 AM in the senior's time zone.
Message and data rates may apply. Text Lamb doesn't charge you for these messages.
Stop: reply STOP at any time (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT). We'll send one message confirming you're unsubscribed, and then nothing more. The senior can also remove you at any time.
Start again: reply START or UNSTOP to resubscribe.
Help: reply HELP, or email hello@textlamb.com.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy: we use your number only to send these alerts. We never sell, rent or share it, or your opt-in, for marketing. See our Privacy Policy (textlamb.com/privacy).
Your number: if you give up or change your number, reply STOP first so the next owner doesn't get these alerts.
Age: family contacts must be 18 or older.

2. Your Text Lamb chat (for the senior)

What it is: your one-on-one chat with Lamb, and family chats you start with Lamb, over iMessage through our messaging provider, Linq (if iMessage isn't available, Linq may use RCS or regular text messages instead). You get replies to your messages, plus the daily check-ins and reminders you ask for, and occasional account notices. No marketing texts.
How you opt in: by signing up on textlamb.com and checking the box "I agree to receive texts from Text Lamb at this number. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Terms: textlamb.com/terms". Or, if someone else signed you up, by replying YES to the one message Lamb sends to ask. Nothing is set up until you reply YES yourself. If you reply NO or STOP, nothing is set up and Lamb doesn't text you again.
Message frequency varies with how you use Lamb, including the check-ins and reminders you set.
Message and data rates may apply.
Stop and help: reply STOP to stop messages, START to start again, or HELP for help. In a family chat, if anyone replies STOP, Lamb stops posting in that chat. To cancel a paid plan, text "cancel my plan" (a one-word CANCEL is treated as STOP).
Age: you must be 18 or older.
